Tata Motors has released yet another teaser that shows a Jaguar Land Rover-inspired rotary gear shift and an electronic parking brake.
Tata H7X SUV, the seven-seater version of the Harrier, set to debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, is likely to get a rotary gear shift. Tata Motors recently released yet another teaser showing a Jaguar Land Rover-inspired rotary gear shift along with an electronic parking brake. We must clarify that though the carmaker didn’t mention the Tata car, it’s safe to say that it is indeed the upcoming H7X.
The upcoming Tata H7X SUV will receive a handful of pivotal changes that will serve to differentiate it from the Harrier. While its wheelbase will be the same as that of the Tata Harrier, H7X will be longer in order to accomodate the third row. Other distingusihing features will include 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, and bigger footboards.
Much like the Tata Harrier SUV, the H7X will also come sporting the carmaker’s Impact 2.0 design language but with some changes to the front.
Now, on to the engine — in its production avatar, the Tata H7X will be offered with the same 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel as the Harrier albeit in a more powerful state of tune. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the engine will deliver roughly 170 bhp. In all probability, the carmaker will also offer a six-speed automatic transmission as an option on the Tata H7X SUV.
The company will showcase the Tata H7X, the Tata Altroz, and the Tata 45X EV concept among other concepts at its 21st outing at the Geneva Motor Show. Set to be launched towards the end of 2019, the upcoming SUV from Tata will go up against established names such as the Ford Endeavour, Toyota Innova, Mahindra Alturas G4, Isuzu MU-X, and Toyota Fortuner.
